Project Description:
The project involved the redevelopment of the 126 MW John Hart Powerhouse to ensure the continued delivery of safe and reliable power on Vancouver Island. The scope included the construction of a new underground tunnel and generating station. Environmental protection was a primary consideration, with approximately 95% of the Campbell River’s flow routed through the John Hart Generating Station. The project also safeguards the John Hart Reservoir, which serves as the City of Campbell River’s source of potable water.
